About a year ago I decided it was finally time to start releasing my beats. I’d been quietly working on my craft for years, and I reached a point where I felt confident enough that the music might resonate with people outside my hard drive.

I decided to treat the whole thing like I was signed to a small independent label, except the label was run and funded by me. I started releasing one single a month on streaming services and setting aside a small piece of my monthly income to promote the music. In today’s saturated streaming world it can feel almost impossible to cut through the noise unless you go viral on TikTok (not really my style) or put a little money behind getting your music into the ears of people who might actually enjoy it. So that’s what I did.

The past 12 months have felt like my rookie year, my breakout season.

I made Breakout Season over the last 8 months, during a time where things started to feel like they were moving creatively.

For a while I was just making beats quietly, experimenting, trying different ideas and not worrying too much about where they would end up. Somewhere along the way, a handful of those beats started to feel connected like they belonged to the same moment.

Not in some big overnight success kind of way, but in that slower, more subtle way where you start to feel momentum building. When you look back and realize something shifted.

This album reflects that process. Some tracks came together quickly, others sat unfinished for months before finally clicking. But they all came from the same mindset: keep showing up, keep making things, and trust that eventually something breaks through.

I also wanted this release to feel a little more tangible.

Growing up I loved opening a new CD, reading the liner notes, looking through the artwork, feeling like the music existed as something more than just a file. For this project I made a small run of tappable collector cards as my modern take on that idea. Something physical that connects back to the music.

Breakout Season is really about that moment when persistence starts turning into momentum.

And this project feels like the beginning of that.
